Always set AVG to run an automatic daily virus scan.

Choose a time of the day when your computer is most likely to be turned on

and connected to the internet (for automatic updates) and let it run a full

automatic daily virus scan.

When AVG is running a virus scan, you can reduce the amount of system

resources it uses so that it doesn't affect the performance of windows.

Open the AVG Control Panel and slide the scan bar to the left. It will take

longer to complete the scan, but the rest of the computer will run quicker.

At least once per month, manually start a full virus scan. Why? Some viruses

will trick you into installing them as Administrators and Power Users which

gives the virus authority over AVG. Manually starting a full virus scan gives

AVG full authority to clean out Administrative threats.
